Phoenix Roebelenii in the cultivation jar

The Phoenix Phoenix Roebelenii originates in the rainforests of South East Asia and is also called the "dwarf dadel palm" in the Netherlands.  In these rainforests the roebelenii is multiple and a maximum of 3 meters high here. This palm is a real room palm in Northern Europe, but may be sheltered in the spring and summer. Due to its slender long trunk and tropical leaf koning, the Phoenix Roebelenii is often used for plantations on public places.  These palms can handle dry air and are therefore perfect room palms. Note that to protect its seeds/dates, the Phoenix Roebelenii has very sharp points at the bottom of each leaf stalk.

Care The Phoenix Roebelenii is a real houseplant and needs to be put in a light, airy place in the house.  In the spring and summers the palm can be put out as long as it is in a sheltered place and absolutely not in full sun.  Water water every day during a dry spring and/or hot, dry summer. Make sure that the palm is always in good water -reducing soil and that excess water can be directly out of the pot. When the palm is always inside, watering two to three times a week. Fertilize the Palm once a year with our concentrated plant feeding. Just like with every palm, the oldest, brown leaf should be cut as close as possible to the trunk. Brown points can be cut. This has no further effect on the palm.
In the winter the Phoenix Roebelenii is hardy to at least -2 ° C. That is why it is important to always put this palm in a large tub so that it can be put away sheltered in the winter. Make sure that the Phoenix also needs enough light and water in the winter. If the palm stays in a pot, it must also be completely packed with a pot protection cover.  Make sure that the wintering space is properly ventilated so that the palm does not get fungus.
